Property Development

The Property Development Committee (PDC) partners with owners who are ready to build in La Misión or planning a renovation that changes the footprint or height of an existing home. Our covenants are intentionally straightforward—far simpler than many U.S.-style HOA rulebooks—yet they play a key role in protecting views, harmony, and long-term property values across the community.

There are also municipal requirements: building licenses are issued through Desarrollo Urbano, and Control Urbano looks for LMPOA’s approval as part of their review process. Coordinating with the PDC early helps align your plans with both LMPOA covenants and local regulations, reducing the risk of delays, redesigns, or unexpected costs.

The PDC is available to review concepts, answer questions, and help you apply the covenants to your specific lot. If you plan to build, La Misión Water Company requires that you:

  1. Work with the PDC before construction begins, and

  2. Become a member of LMPOA to qualify for water service when your home is completed.
